The most advanced coated hooklink yet, with a super abrasion resistant braided Kevlar core and fast sinking. For ultimate tuning of modern presentations, it is available with a stiff or semi-stiff coating. Spools are 10 meters long. Available in non-reflective Gravel, Weed, and Silt matt camouflage finishes in weights of 15, 20, 25, and 35lb.
What distinguishes Skinlink is that the braid in most anglers' combi rigs is a floating product that sinks only with additional weighting or a heavier skin. The additional dense Kevlar inside makes Skinlink a true sinker whether stripped or not.
The coating was developed to provide the perfect balance of rigidity and durability. It is advantageous to have a tough coating like that found on Skinlink because it prevents the link from slipping or wearing after a few fish, allowing rigs to last longer. This is especially true with the widespread use of presentations like the Multi Rig, where hooks can be changed and the link reused.
Because of its strength, Skinlink will knot down firmly without the coating separating as it is bedded down. The coating on Skinlink is best removed using a stripping tool.
Alan Blair has discovered that Skinlink simplifies his tackle box because one hooklink material now does two duties. The inside Kevlar braid is in itself a hooklink option. When casting, the Skinlink coating is left on for its anti-tangling capabilities. However, when using a solid PVA bag or for margin work, the entire covering is removed, and the inner braid is fished as a link straight through.
The option of Semi-Stiff Coated or Stiff Coated Skinlink enables presentation to be customized, from standard Combi-Rigs to hinged Stiff Rigs.
