The UK has an abundance of stunning fishing lakes on offer and we would love to share some of these with you so that you can add them to your bucket list!
Lakes come in all shapes and sizes and offer a variety of fish, not to mention the stunning tranquil scenery that comes with them.
First on our list is Horseshoe lake, famously named due to its shape of a horseshoe (Who would have thought!). This lake is located in the heart of Gloucestershire and brings in a plethora of fishermen.
Horseshoe Lake is well known for its carp, and you will know if you catch one on your fishing line, as they are quite the size there historically. The average weight is 21lb, with a lake record of 41lb 10oz!
Carp won't be the only fish you catch in this 62-acre lake, as it is also home to pike, rudd, perch, bream, roach and tench.
If you are looking for a road trip up north for a spot of fishing, then Loch Leven should be on your list. The water here is mostly shallow which makes it perfect for us fishing enthusiasts as well.
Boasting 3600 acres of water for you to enjoy fishing from, and stunning views of the surrounding area, you could spend hours here catching wild brown trout.
To continue with the theme of a northern road trip, why not visit Castle Loch Fishery?
Castle Loch is well known amongst the Scottish fishing community and is home to tench, bream and carp.
This loch is located within a stunning nature reserve, so fish won't be the only thing you can come across here, you will be met with an abundance of wildlife.
Castle Loch is also famous for the titles it has won, being the only fishery in Scotland to hold three national records.
Bringing it back more local, another great place for fishing is Sumners Ponds, located just outside of Horsham.
It is home to 5 lakes to explore, where you can catch fish of all varieties, varying from Carp, Perch, Roach, Pike and Bream, to Rudd, Crucians, Chub and much more!
With over 100 acres of lakes and woodlands, you could spend a whole weekend here and only just scratch the surface!
